Children and Past-Life Recall

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

—Proverbs 22:6

The experiences of children with past-life regression are unique and important to note so that they are not overlooked when they do in fact occur. Children are easier to work with than most adults and enter into altered states of consciousness very quickly. I thought it was best to have a complete chapter on children and past-life recall since the topic is often overlooked. I want to call attention to its occurrence, because there are many benefits for acknowledging children recalling their previous lives.

I have found that children are much more receptive to past-life regression. In most cases, it takes more effort for adults to switch over and use the other area of the brain. Most kids can relax and let the other side of their brain take over. Their creative, artistic, and imaginative side comes through. Most adults use the analytical part of their brains and are totally focused on the material and physical aspects of this world.

Children are more aware of the heavenly realms and can easily be placed into very receptive states to talk to their angels or vividly recall previous lifetimes. Children use the creative and intuitive side of their brain until about age ten or eleven. At this point, they start to use the logical and analytical side more. In many cases, this has a tendency to shut down their creative, psychic, and spiritual gifts as they focus on living in the modern world. The next story is a great example of a boy who was still able to use those gifts. As is the case throughout this book, all of the names of my clients have been changed.

Resolving Parental Concern

Many years ago a concerned mother telephoned me. She was worried about her ten-year-old son’s obsession with mechanics. As I conversed with her, she told me that her son Joe was completely focused on old cars and mechanical magazines. He would tell his mother about living in the city of Calgary. With great detail, Joe described cars from the 1950s and 1960s. He could explain about the motor sizes and horsepower ratings of some of the cars from that era. Even the name and address of a car garage was known by young Joe. Since this boy had never been to this Canadian city in his young lifetime, it perplexed his loving parents.

“My husband and I don’t know what to do. We want to bring him to see you. Maybe we can find answers to all of this,” Joe’s mom told me.

A few days later, the parents showed up with their ten-year-old son. While the parents waited in my living room, I ushered Joe into my office. He slid into the recliner with ease and then stared at me with innocent eyes.

“Okay, Joe, I am going to ask you to close your eyes. Then I want you to start taking slow, relaxing breaths in and release each breath slowly,” I instructed my young client.
